Sacramento Young Marines

In the past three years our Young Marines and  Adult Volunteers contributed over 1.8 million volunteer and community service hours across our nation. You might say that you can not put a price on such dedication but you can. According to the Independent Sector, in partnership with IMPLAN, the latest value of a volunteer hour is $24.69 this equates to over $44,000,000.00 the Young Marines program has committed to our communities.

The Sheriff's Activities League, Youth Services Unit mentors and works with the Sacramento Young Marines on a monthly basis by engaging Young Marines with an insight to law enforcement as well as giving back to our communities.

The Sacramento Young Marines meet at least twice per month for Drill and community service. A typical Drill day runs from 0800 to 1500 and begins with physical training, moves into close order drill, then classroom time for studies which include drug demand reduction, citizenship, and leadership training. We like to end our Drills with fun teambuilding activities.

Young Marines are very active in community service in and around Sacramento. We hold a monthly Veterans appreciation breakfast. We serve our local MCL when we get the opportunity and we are proud to assist and support the first responders that keep our city a safe and secure place to live!
